Sam and Max are the main characters in a comic series created by Steve Purcell in 1987 , which is a parody of American pop culture , especially police films.

Characters

Sam is an anthropomorphic dog about six feet tall in a suit with a fedora hat and the head of the team. Max is a violent, "hyperkinetic rabbit-like something".

In 1993 LucasArts released the adventure Sam & Max Hit the Road . When the rights of LucasArts were reverted to the creator Purcell, who worked as a graphic designer for a long time at LucasArts, he decided to bring out a successor to the computer game in episode format with the company Telltale Games . The six episodes of the first season appeared monthly from October 2006 to May 2007 and are now available from JoWooD with German synchronization under the title Sam & Max: Season One as a complete package. The fourth episode, Abe Lincoln must die , has been offered for download by developer Telltale Games completely free of charge since 2007 , but only in English. From September 2007 appeared the five episode comprehensive Sam & Max: Season Two . This version was dubbed German by Infogrames , but no longer includes the original speakers. The game was released on April 30, 2010. In 2010, the five episodes of Season Three ( Sam & Max: In the Devil's Theater ) were released from April .

Sam and Max also appear in the game Poker Night at the Inventory, released in November 2010. In this game you play poker against four video game characters, including Sam accompanied by Max.
