Sam Baker (journalist)

Sam Baker (born July 1966 ) is a British journalist. Until December 2006 she was editor-in-chief of the magazine " Cosmopolitan " in Great Britain . She is currently (February 2007) the editor of “Red”, published by the French media company Hachette , and a magazine related to the fashion magazine “Elle”.

She was born in Hampshire , southern England and studied politics at the University of Birmingham . After graduation, she worked as an article writer and editor for numerous British women's magazines, including "Red", "New Woman" ( the new wife ), "Chat" ( chat ) and "Take a Break" ( Make even break! ). After relaunching the youth magazine “Just Seventeen” ( just seventeen ) under the new title “J-17”, she spent five years as editor of the British women's magazine “Company” until she quit working there to write her first novel “Fashion Victim” ( about: victim of fashion ). This was recognized by Time magazine in New York as "one of the five most striking first works of summer 2005".

Sam Baker hosts radio programs that address issues facing young women. She lives in Winchester , Hampshire and London with her partner, novelist Jon Courtenay Grimwood.
