Alfons Söllner

Alfons Söllner (born April 6, 1947 in Hardeck , Bavaria ) is a German political scientist .

Söllner studied political science, philosophy, sociology and German studies in Regensburg and Munich from 1967 to 1973 . In 1977 he received his doctorate from Kurt Sontheimer . From 1979 to 1984 he worked at the Free University of Berlin . In 1986 he completed his habilitation at the Otto Suhr Institute there . He represented professorships in Hamburg and Bremen and was a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin. From 1994 to 2012 he was Professor of Political Theory and History of Ideas at the Technical University of Chemnitz and has been Liaison Lecturer at the Fulbright Commission since 2003 .

With his study “German Political Scientists in Emigration” he made a significant contribution to the history of political science.
