Sam and Silo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sam and Silo is an American comic strip by Mort Walker and Jerry Dumas that has been published since 1977. It is the successor to Sam's Strip , which was published between 1961 and 1963.

action

The action takes place in the Upper Duckwater provincial nest. There Sheriff Sam and his Deputy Silo take care of the security of the place. Contrary to Sam, who believes that a nap and a nice meal are the best anti-crime measures, the town's mayor, Abe McGuffey, sees crime lurking on every street corner.

In contrast to this, Sam's Strip was about the fact that numerous characters from other comics had guest appearances. Frederick Burr Opper's Happy Hooligan , in particular, made frequent attempts to show up on the strip.

Creator and Publication

Sam's Strip was first released on October 16, 1961 and discontinued on January 9, 1963. Sam and Silo was started in 1977. Both Sam's Strip and Sam and Silo emerged from the collaboration between Mort Walker and Jerry Dumas . Dumas has been solely responsible for the strip since 1995.

In German-speaking countries, Sam's Strip appeared in issues 41 and 42 of the comic magazine Comixene as well as in volume 5 of the series Comics - world-famous series of characters published by Carlsen Verlag . Sam and Silo was published in the Flippi Flink series by Semic Verlag.

background

Sam's Strip was the first comic strip to focus on comics. Because of his too special humor for the general public, he did not achieve this.
