Same Love is the fourth single by the Seattle-based music duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis . It was released on the debut studio album The Heist in 2012 . The title was recorded in collaboration with Mary Lambert during the 74 Washington referendum campaign . This legalized gay marriage in Washington . The song reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. In New Zealand and Australia, it even reached number 1 on the charts.
