FJ Mills

Frederick John "FJ" Mills (born April 29, 1865 in Topsham , Orange County , Vermont , †  September 28, 1953 in Pasadena , California ) was an American politician . Between 1895 and 1897 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Idaho .

Career

Frederick Mills graduated from the University of Vermont in 1886 . Later he worked in the construction industry as an architect or contractor. He moved to Pocatello , Idaho, where he also embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In 1894, Mills was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho alongside William J. McConnell . He held this office between January 4, 1895 and January 7, 1897. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . At the same time he held the office of Minister of Construction ( State Engineer of Idaho ). He later worked in the construction sector in Montana and California. Between 1916 and 1934 he worked for the Southern Edison Company . He then retired. He died in Pasadena on September 28, 1953.
