Edwin Nelson

Edwin Nelson (born September 28, 1881 in Denver , Colorado , †  September 19, 1961 in Grangeville , Idaho ) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1945 he was Lieutenant Governor of Idaho State .

Career

Edwin Nelson first grew up in Denver and then lived on his parents' ranch in Grangeville. There he also attended the public schools. He later began a business career. For 30 years he was a board member of Union Warehouse and Supply Co. in Grangeville. He was also on the board of directors of the North Pacific Grain Growers Association . In Grangeville he was a member of several clubs and organizations.

Politically, Nelson joined the Republican Party . Since 1924, he has served three terms in the Idaho Senate . In 1942 he was elected lieutenant governor of his state at the side of CA Bottolfsen . He held this office between January 4, 1943 and January 1, 1945. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He died in Grangeville on September 19, 1961. Since December 23, 1903 he was married to Hattie Zehner.
