Brad Little (born February 15, 1954 in Emmett , Idaho ) is an American politician . From 2009 to 2019 he was Lieutenant Governor of Idaho State . In the gubernatorial election on November 6, 2018 , Little was elected to succeed Butch Otter , and since January 6, 2019, he has been the 33rd governor of Idaho.

Career

Brad Little graduated from the University of Idaho . Then he worked on his parents' ranch. Later he also entered other business areas. He ran Little Enterprises , an agricultural and livestock company. He was also the chairman of the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry and several other associations and organizations in his home country. He is now a board member of Home Federal Bank and a craft business in Boise .

Politically, Little became a member of the Republican Party . Between 2001 and 2009 he was a member of the Idaho Senate . After the resignation of Lieutenant Governor Jim Risch , who moved to the US Senate , he was appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Idaho by Governor Butch Otter. He held this office from January 6, 2009 to January 6, 2019. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He was also entrusted with the economic development of the state of Idaho. Little was re-elected as vice governor in the regular elections in 2010 and 2014.

In 2018 Little ran as the successor to Butch Otter, who was no longer standing for re-election. He prevailed against the Democrat Paulette Jordan with 59.8% of the votes cast . On January 6, 2019, Little was sworn in as the 33rd governor of Idaho.
