David PB Pride

David PB Pride (* around 1855 in Windham , Maine ; † unknown) was an American politician . In 1885 he was acting Territorial Governor of the Idaho Territory .

There is hardly any useful source material about Pride. Born in Maine in the mid-1850s, he attended Westbrook Seminary , also in Maine, at the age of 16 . After studying law, he was admitted to the bar at the age of 19. In 1874 he went to Washington , where he became assistant to Congressman and later US Senator Eugene Hale .

In 1881, Pride was as an attorney in Boise ( Idaho down). He became a deputy tax collector and was employed by the administration of the federal state allocation authority. Between 1884 and 1885 he was Secretary of State in the Idaho Territory. In that capacity, he was brief acting Territorial Governor between the terms of Governors William M. Bunn and Edward A. Stevenson . Between 1885 and 1887, Pride was Attorney General of the Territory. After that his track is lost. In 1893 he was listed as a lawyer on a Boise City Register. In the 1900 census, his name does not appear there any more than in other registers.
