George F. Moore

George F. Moore (born March 9, 1861 in Lewisburg , Ohio , † May 24, 1938 in Seattle , Washington ) was an American politician . Between 1897 and 1899 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Idaho .

Career

In 1868 George Moore came to Kansas with his family , where he attended public schools. The family then moved to Colorado in 1877 , where George helped his father in his freight business. Later he also worked in mining and other industries until 1891. From 1891 he lived in Wallace, Idaho, where he worked in the furniture industry. Politically, he became a member of the People's Party , which then became part of the Democratic Party .

In 1896, Moore was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho alongside Frank Steunenberg . He held this office between January 4, 1897 and January 2, 1899. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . Nothing is recorded in the sources about his time after his resignation from the office of lieutenant governor. He died in Seattle on May 24, 1938.
