OE Hailey

Oscar E. "OE" Hailey (born December 10, 1870 in Illinois , †  July 5, 1958 in Weiser , Idaho ) was an American politician . Between 1927 and 1931 he was lieutenant governor of Idaho state twice .

Career

Nothing is known about the youth and school education of O. E. Hailey. In 1889, he came to Oaksdale, Washington state , where he ran a farm and ran a machinery business. From 1905 he was a co-owner of a hardware company. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 1901 and 1903 he was a member of the Washington Senate . He later moved to Idaho, where he continued his political career. Between 1919 and 1926 he was also a member of the state senate there .

In 1926, Hailey was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho on the side of HC Baldridge . He held this office between January 3, 1927 and January 7, 1929. In 1928 he was replaced by his party by WB Kinne who, after his election on January 7, 1929, held the post of lieutenant governor until his death. Then Hailey was re-elected to this office in a special election, which he took over again on October 25, 1929 and held until January 5, 1931. As Vice-Governor, he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, he no longer appeared politically. O. E. Hailey died on July 5, 1958 in Weiser.
