David H. Leroy

David H. Leroy (born August 16, 1947 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American politician . Between 1983 and 1987 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Idaho .

Career

David Leroy studied at the University of Idaho until 1971 . After studying law at New York University's law school and admitting himself to the bar, he began working for a New York law firm in this profession. From 1973 to 1974 he was assistant district attorney in Ada County . He was then the chief district attorney there until 1978. From 1979 to 1983 he was the successor of Wayne L. Kidwell from the office of Attorney General in Idaho. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party .

In 1982, Leroy was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho alongside John V. Evans . He held this office between January 3, 1983 and January 5, 1987. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he initially practiced as a lawyer again. Between 1990 and 1993 David Leroy headed the short-term Federal Office of the United States Nuclear Waste Negotiator , which was dissolved in 1995. Since then he has been working as a lawyer again.
