GP mix

Gainford P. "G. P. “Mix (born October 15, 1876 in Grand Island , Nebraska , †  June 28, 1944 in Moscow , Idaho ) was an American politician . Between 1931 and 1933 and again from 1935 to 1937 he was Vice Governor of the State of Idaho.

Career

G. P. Mix came to Idaho around 1880. He later graduated from the University of Idaho's agricultural faculty . During his student days he was also a baseball player there . He later became a farmer and entrepreneur. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In 1931 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho alongside Ben Ross . He held this post between January 5, 1931 and January 2, 1933. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate .

In 1932 Mix declined to run again. Instead, he unsuccessfully competed in the primary of his party for the US Senate elections . In 1934 he was re-elected lieutenant governor of his state. He held this office between January 7, 1935 and January 3, 1937. He died in Moscow on June 28, 1944.
