Edson H. Deal

Edson Hart Deal (born November 11, 1903 in Weiser , Idaho , †  April 22, 1967 ) was an American politician . Between 1951 and 1955 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Idaho.

Career

Nothing is known about Edson Deal's youth and schooling. He lived in Nampa , Canyon County and worked in the insurance industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 1941 and 1950 he sat in the Idaho Senate . In 1944 he was a substitute delegate to the Republican National Convention .

In 1950, Deal was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho alongside Leonard B. Jordan . He held this office between January 1, 1951 and January 3, 1955. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. In January 1967 he took over the office of Secretary of State of his state, which he held until his death on April 22 of the same year.

Edson Deal had a daughter and two sons with his wife, Gwen.
