Orange County is a county in the state of Vermont in the United States . The county seat is in Chelsea .

The county borders New Hampshire to the east and has an area of ​​1792 square kilometers, of which 8 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Caledonia County , Grafton County, New Hampshire, Windsor County , Addison County, and Washington County .

Orange County was formed in February 1781 from parts of the then-defunct Cumberland County.

The racial the population was composed of 98.02% white, 0.24% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.04% residents from the Pacific island area and 0.13% from others ethnic groups; 0.95% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.58% of the population.

Of the 10,936 households, 33.40% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 56.10% were married couples living together, 8.90% were single mothers. 30.40% were not families. 23.40% are single households and 9.20% have someone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.97 people.
