Essex County is a county in the state of Vermont in the United States . The county seat is in Guildhall .

The county borders on New Hampshire to the east and Canada to the north and has an area of ​​1745 square kilometers, of which 22 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Coos County, New Hampshire, Grafton County, New Hampshire, Caledonia County , Orleans County, and Coaticook, Canada.
