history
Brunswick was founded on October 13, 1761 with an area of 14,617 acres (about 59 km²) as one of the New Hampshire Grants by Benning Wentworth and settled reluctantly from 1780. In 1791 only 66 people lived in the town. The main occupation of the residents is agriculture and - to a small extent - animal husbandry.
In the area of the municipality there are six healing springs with different ingredients that come to light close together. These sources were already known to the Abenaki who originally lived here and have been assigned to them since the 1970s. Since the springs are a sacred place for the Indians, they are not intended to be used commercially.
