The Grant for East Haven was awarded on October 22, 1790 by the Vermont Republic, as were several other grants, to a group led by Timothy Andrews. Andrews, a carpenter, built and operated an inn in his hometown of East Haven , Connecticut . That's why he named the area East Haven after his hometown. Andrews never lived in Vermont, but he died in Vermont while visiting his possessions.
A forest railway was in operation in East Haven from 1882 to 1918 .
In the center of town is the disused Lyndonville Air Force Station , a radar surveillance station on Radar Road. Allegedly, shortly before the alleged alien abduction of Betty and Barney Hill , this radar station captured the object observed by the Hills.
