Samir Leuppi

Samir Leuppi (born February 24, 1993 in Winterthur ) is an active Swiss wrestler and member of the Winterthur wrestling club .

Career as a wrestler

Samir Leuppi was voted Winterthur Sportsman of the Year in 2019.

So far, he has celebrated 2 wreath victories (Zürcher Kantonalschwingfest 2017 in Weiach and 2019 in Fehraltorf). There are also 4 mountain wreaths (Schwägalp 2017 and 2018, Rigi 2019, Weissenstein 2019) and 6 NOS partial association wreaths.

The highlights were the 4th place at the Unspunnen-Schwinget 2017 and the victory at the Swiss Junior Wrestling Day 2009 in Le Mouret (born 1993). In addition, Samir Leuppi has been able to call himself “Confederate” since 2019. He was allowed to have the federal wreath put on at the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug and from then on he is one of the baddies in wrestling.

Leuppi also has 7 regional festival victories (Eschenberg-Schwinget 2015/2016/2018/2019, Pfannenstiel-Schwinget 2016/2019, Gibel-Schwinget 2019) as well as final course participation at the Zurich Cantonal Festival 2015 in Wädenswil, at the Eschenberg-Schwinget 2013/17 and at Lichtmess -Swinget 2018.

In 2019, Leuppi was ranked 7th in the official annual points list of the Swiss Federal Wrestling Association .

Life

Samir Leuppi was born and raised in Winterthur . After finishing school, he successfully completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter, he switched to the security industry, where he is still active today. Samir Leuppi trains at the Schwingklub-Winterthur and with his association, the NOSV (Nordostschweizerischer Schwingerverband). He loves the sport in general and besides swinging, he likes to lift weights (Olympic weightlifting), likes to go fishing and occasionally throws a discus. He is also a member of the Wülflingen gymnastics club. In 2019 he founded the label "soog KIG" with one of his wrestling colleagues. He is also the best man of his fellow wrestler Roger Rychen .
