Samuel Andreas "Sam" Knabl (born July 16, 1982 ) is a former Austrian basketball player and comes from Wolfsberg . The 2.06 m tall and 104 kg heavy forward is a four-time Austrian champion and a two-time winner in the Supercup . He also played 26 times for the Austrian national team.

Life

Knabl came into contact with basketball in Wolfsberg. At the age of 17, Knabl moved to the Kapfenberg Bulls in 1998 , with whom he won four championship titles and two titles in the Supercup (2002 and 2003) between 2001 and 2004 . Then he played for the kelag Wörthersee Piraten and the UBSC PBS Graz . Since 2008 Knabl was again player and team captain of the Kapfenberg Bulls.

In 2013 he said goodbye to competitive basketball, he had played 398 Bundesliga games and 33 games in the European Cup. In the amateur area he played for Gratkorn after his Bundesliga time.
