Samuel T. Strand

Samuel Tudor Strang ( 1856 - April 29, 1921 in Philadelphia ) was an American organist and composer.

Strang began his musical education at the age of eight. He was a student of the organist David Duffield Wood and later studied with Alexandre Guilmant in Paris and at the Music School of the University of Pennsylvania . He worked as an organist at various churches in Philadelphia and also performed as a concert organist (including at the Centennial Exhibition in 1876). 1910-11 he was the organist of the Philadelphia Orchestra . He was also a founding member of the American Guild of Organists . Strang composed a number of organ works.
