San José de Jáchal (or often shortened: Jáchal ) is the capital of the Jáchal department in the province of San Juan in western Argentina . It is located 153 kilometers from the provincial capital San Juan south of the Río Jáchal bank. San José de Jáchal is the intersection of the national roads Ruta Nacional 40 and Ruta Nacional 150 . In the classification of municipalities of the province of San Juan, it is a municipality of the 2nd category.
