Patrick Kavanagh (born March 14, 1979 in Ottawa , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Cornwall River Kings in the LNAH .
Career
Pat Kavanagh began his ice hockey career in 1995 with the Kanata Valley Lasers from the Canadian Junior Hockey League . In 1996 he moved to the Peterborough Petes in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . After his first season, the Philadelphia Flyers pulled the Canadian in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft in the second round in a total of 50th place. However, Kavanagh stayed in the OHL for two more years, improving his scores every year. In the summer of 1999, Kavanagh was transferred to a six-round draft pick in the organization of the Vancouver Canucks . But he first played a season with the farm team Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League . After he initially also next year completely in the minor league spent, this time with the Kansas City Blades in the International Hockey League , he came in the first round of the Stanley Cup - Play-offs in 2001 against the Colorado Avalanche to his debut in the National Hockey League . The 2001/02 season completed Kavanagh completely in the AHL. In the next two years he did not manage to assert himself in the NHL and only came to three NHL games. For the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, however, he played a major role.
In the 2004/05 season , the attacker played for the Binghamton Senators , a farm team for the NHL club Ottawa Senators from Kavanagh's hometown. After just one year, the striker signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, where he was mostly used in the AHL team Philadelphia Phantoms , but was also allowed to play eight times in the NHL. The 2006/07 season began the right-shooter with the Portland Pirates in the AHL, before he decided to move to Europe in 2006.
First, the striker was there for the Finnish club Saimaan Pallo from the SM-liiga on the ice, before he moved to the Swedish Elitserien club HV 71 Jönköping in the same season . In May 2007 the DEL Club Iserlohn Roosters announced the commitment of the Canadian who signed a one-year contract in the Sauerland. There he played an outstanding year alongside Jimmy Roy and Ryan Ready , but signed a two-year contract early on with play-off opponents Frankfurt Lions . In Frankfurt, however, he could not convince, so that he moved to ERC Ingolstadt after just one season . Kavanagh only stayed one year in Bavaria and returned to the Iserlohn Roosters for the 2010/2011 season . In June 2011 Kavanagh was signed by the Vienna Capitals from the Austrian Ice Hockey League and given a one-year contract for the 2011/12 season . At the end of September of the same year, his contract was terminated after the engagement of Nathan Robinson . In the summer of 2012 he moved to Italy, where he came to an agreement with the runner-up HC Pustertal .
