San Michele in Venzone

The Catholic Chapel of San Michele in Venzone , a municipality in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia , was built in the first half of the 12th century. The Romanesque chapel near the cathedral is a rotunda made of rubble masonry .

In the crypt of the chapel were 21 mummies found, 15 of which are well preserved. A museum has been set up in the building that can be visited all year round.
