San Pedro Concert is a live and video album by the music group Mono for Everyone! . It was recorded in Cabo de Gata National Park in 2002 and published by Substar in 2003.
Creation and publication
The concert was an action in San Pedro, Andalusia (in the Cabo de Gata National Park ). The band had advertised on their website and on posters for a one-week concert tour at cost price of 89 euros, which took two minibuses to the southern Spanish dropout valley . The participants had to stay in tents on the way.
The valley of San Pedro flows into a beach on the Spanish Mediterranean coast that can only be reached on foot and was inhabited by numerous dropouts at that time who knew nothing about the concert. Since there was no electricity in the remote valley, a heavy power generator along with the musical instruments and the sound and lighting system had to be brought by boat. Other equipment was carried through the mountains on foot.
The concert took place late at night in front of around 300 spectators. There was a dispute among the people who were taken by surprise, and the musicians were also physically attacked. As a result, the band stopped the concert after about 40 minutes.
The concert was recorded on an analog 8-track tape machine and then mixed by the band themselves. The album was released in 2003 along with a video CD . The cover consists of self-made wooden parts in a do-it-yourself style. Despite the free download offer, over 6000 copies of the album were sold.
