The Sanctuaire du Saint-Sacrement is a Catholic pilgrimage church in Montréal , Canada , dedicated to the veneration of the Blessed Sacrament .

history

The church was built in 1890 by the Congregation of the Prêtres du Saint-Sacrement ( Eucharist ) on Avenue du Mont-Royal in the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal district . It has been a listed building since 1979. In 2000 it was given up by the Eucharists. In 2004, Archbishop Jean-Claude Turcotte entrusted her care to the French fraternity of Fraternité de Jérusalem .

Architecture and equipment

The church in the French neo-baroque style is a three-aisled hall church with a round apse . The side aisles run through double galleries . The rich furnishings with marble sculptures and picture windows revolve around the theme of the Eucharist .
