Sand Islet is a tiny reef island in the reef rim of the Nukufetau Atoll in the island state of Tuvalu .

geography

Sand Islet is just south of Teafua Pass (Te Ava Lasi) in the west of the atoll. As the name suggests, the island is a pure sand island without vegetation. From there, the reef crown with its shallows stretches south to the southwest tip of the atoll near Fale .
