Sander & Janzen (SAJA) was a Berlin-based company that mainly dealt with the manufacture of professional magnetic tape recorders for studio and radio purposes, but also manufactured studio turntables. In the mid-1950s, SAJA advanced to become the main supplier of studio tape machines in the GDR .

Initially, the company was located in the eastern part of Berlin . After the company owners left the GDR for West Berlin in the mid-1950s , the company was continued in the western part of the city and expanded to include the production of the first home tape recorders. The "MC4" model presented in 1956 was the first, the "SAJA-export MK51" (1959) the last model in this series.

On June 1, 1960, the company was taken over by Graetz .

The remaining production facility in the East Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg was taken over by Edgar Thurow after the company owners moved to West Berlin. As a result of this takeover, the company's name was changed to THUROW KG . The East Berlin company continued to produce the engines and machines of the SAJA series (type designation SJxxx or Txxx). The last SAJA type device produced by THUROW KG in the east was the SJ155 studio tape machine. THUROW KG later merged with VEB Tontechnik, which until the fall of the Berlin Wall manufactured studio tape machines for radio needs (including T 2211, T 2221).
