Sandland (Manga)

Sandland (original spelling : SAND LAND ) is a manga by the Japanese artist Akira Toriyama .

Compared to Toriyama's better-known manga series Dragonball , the story is relatively small with a total of 14 chapters and can be found in a single paperback.

In the near future the earth has become a dusty planet through endless wars. The king of the people apparently owns the only remaining water source and sells the water to the people at inhuman prices.

The cunning sheriff Rao ( jap.ラ オ), however, believes in the existence of a hidden source and asks the demons for help. Together with Beelzebub (ベ ル ゼ ブ ブberuzebubu ), the son of Satan (サ タ ン), and the master thief Sheef (シ ー フshīfu ) he goes on a search. Together they experience exciting adventures in which they have to assert themselves against the king's army and against his adversaries.

Sandland was published in Japan in 2000 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump of the Shueisha publishing house.

The manga was published in German from November 2001 to May 2002 in issues 1–7 of the manga magazine BANZAI! from Carlsen Verlag and was published in November 2002 as an anthology.
