Sandro Matitz (born May 11, 1987 ) is a former Swiss grass and alpine skier . He took part in competitions in alpine skiing until 2007 and started in the Grass Ski World Cup in 2008 .

Career

From 2003 to 2007 Matitz took part in numerous FIS races as well as in Swiss championships in alpine skiing . In the FIS races he was able to place himself in the top ten several times. He then switched to grass skiing and took part in FIS and World Cup races in 2008 . On June 7th and 8th he contested his first FIS races in Urnäsch and achieved twelfth place in the super combined as the best result. A week later he took part in his first World Cup race in Rettenbach . In this super combination, he finished last in 24th place, but won his first World Cup points straight away. In August he also started the World Cup races in Marbachegg . Here he reached twelfth place in the giant slalom, thirteenth place in the slalom and 18th place in the Super-G and came 31st in the overall World Cup for the 2008 season.
