The Sandwich Bluff is a flattened and 610 m high cliff on Vega Island in the Antarctic Weddell Sea . With its dark and steeply sloping western flank, it rises a little west of the center of the island.
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld discovered it. Scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out measurements and descriptive naming in 1945. A ledge interspersed with snow on the west side makes the cliff look like a sandwich from the north .
