Live and act

Sandy Taikyu Kuhn Shimu completed her commercial diploma (in Switzerland) and trained as a state-certified specialist sports teacher (in Germany) and as a certified martial arts and Qi Gong teacher (in the Philippines) before she co-founded the WULIN Academy in 1997, in which Asian living and movement arts are taught. Sandy Taikyu Kuhn Shimu is also a qualified yoga teacher, yoga therapist and psychological coaching and has developed her own consulting method with WULIN-Coaching (since 2005). The basis of this work is the WULIN principle, which stands for wisdom, basic trust, love, integrity and naturalness.

Sandy Taikyu Kuhn Shimu has been working on Asian philosophy and psychology since 1993. Study and pilgrimage to the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Tibet, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India shape her thinking, feeling and acting. The self-confessed Zen Buddhist took the lay vows in 2006 in the Rinzai tradition (Jukai ceremony ordination for the laity) and received her Dharma name Taikyu, which means everlasting peace. Shimu is a title that is mainly used in martial arts and in Chan (Japanese Zen). From 2010 to 2012 she deepened her knowledge of Buddhism by studying at the German Buddhist Union (DBU) in Germany. In 2013 she founded the WULIN Zen line. WULIN-Zen is a traditional meditative practice and the science of the mind that originated in the Chinese Shaolin monastery. From 2016 to 2019 she completed a basic course in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.

Sandy Taikyu Kuhn Shimu attaches great importance to the practical applicability of traditional teachings in modern everyday life. As a teacher, Zen master, in her lectures, seminars and retreats and last but not least in her books, CDs and card sets, she conveys an authentic, comprehensible, easy to implement and realistic Taoist and Buddhist life practice.
