Sangye Pel (Imperial Teacher)
Sangye Pel ( Tib . : sangs rgyas dpal; Chinese 桑结 贝 , Pinyin Sangjiebei ) (* 1267 ; † 1314 ) was the nephew of the fifth imperial teacher Dragpa Öser and abbot of the Sakya monastery. From 1305 to 1314 he was the imperial teacher ( dishi / ti shri ) of the Mongol emperors Chengzong (Timur Khan), Wuzong ( Külüq Khan ) and Renzong ( Buyantu Khan ). He was the seventh person to serve as the central government's highest monk official for Buddhist affairs.
