Saint Nikolai Church

The Sankt-Nikolai-Kirche is the Protestant church in the village of Glindenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

The church is likely to have been built in the first half of the 15th century. A renovation took place in 1727, when the tower and nave were raised by means of a half-timbered construction. In 1963 it was restored without any decoration. In 2004 the repair of the church tower began. The half-timbered lantern had to be completely renewed - only individual beams were in a reusable condition - the spire was repaired and, like the lantern, re-slated. The three dials of the clock could be restored or renewed. Since 2005, the lantern and spire have been back in the old place with the repaired tower ball and a new weather vane . In the same year, the outside facade of the church was completely renovated and painted. In addition, lead-glazed stained-glass windows have been used throughout the building since 2007. T. have been repaired or renewed.

The rectangular nave was provided with arched windows in two rows. To the west of the nave, which is closed on three sides at the eastern end, is the square church tower. It is incorporated into the nave a little. The upper half-timbered tower storey is clad with slate . The top of the tower is offset. The conclusion is a tower ball with a weather vane attached.
