Sansēru

Sanseirui also Sanseiru ( Jap. サンセール or 三十六手 ; chinese  三十六 , Pinyin sānshíliù ) is a Kata of Karate . She will u. a. practiced in Gōjū-Ryū .

Surname

Sansēru means the number 36 in Chinese characters . This refers to the formula 6 × 6, a Buddhist concept. The first six numbers stand for eye , ear , nose , tongue , body and mind ( skandhas ). The next six numbers symbolize the color , the voice , the sense of taste , the sense of smell and the justice . It is also known as the " dragon kata".

Bubishi

According to the Bubishi , the name of the kata comes from the 36 vital points of the body that can be effectively attacked by the techniques of the kata.

In Sansēru, movements and techniques are performed in all four directions specifically for close combat. In reality, an attack often comes as a complete surprise and without warning. Sansēru follows this rhythm. Quiet suddenly changes into quick action and slow, soft movements are immediately followed by explosive techniques. Sansēru serves to develop this speed and strength.

Examination regulations

In the DKV , Sansēru will be shown for the style of Gōjū-Ryū in the examination for 2nd Kyū, 1st Kyū and 1st Dan, the Bunkai in the examination for 1st Dan.
