Age restriction
According to the German Youth Protection Act, the age restriction is the release of media according to age group.
Facilities of control
- Voluntary self-regulation of the film industry (FSK) for films
- Voluntary self-regulatory television (FSF) for private television providers
- Commission for youth media protection of the state media authorities for radio and internet
- Entertainment software self-regulation (USK) for computer games
- Voluntary self-regulation multimedia service provider eV (fsm) for online media
- Machine self-control (ASK) for slot machine games
- Interest group self-control of electronic data carriers in the press distribution (DT-Control) for “carrier media that are connected with a periodical publication” ( § 12 Abs. 5 JuSchG ) or booklet CDs
- German advertising consultancy for advertising
The German Press Council is the voluntary self-regulation of the print media. The self-control of the magazines could not prevail. Print media are not approved.
