The church of Sant'Omobono is located on the Capitoline Hill in the Rione Ripa in Rome .

The previous church of San Salvatore in Portico from the 4th century was rebuilt from the 15th century and completed in 1574 after it was sold to the Università dei Sartori ( Guild of Tailors ) and dedicated to Homobonus of Cremona , the patron saint of tailors.

The excavation site Area sacra di Sant'Omobono , which surrounds the church, was named after her .
