Sant Carles de Peralta ( Spanish : San Carlos) is a town in the east of the Balearic island of Ibiza . It belongs to the municipality of Santa Eulària .
San Carlos was a meeting place for hippie culture in the 1960s .
The center of public life is the small "Bar Anita" opposite the church. Here are the mailboxes for people living in the surrounding area. In the Las Dalias garden restaurant at the entrance to the village, one of the island's two large hippy markets takes place on Saturdays.
San Carlos has been the permanent residence of the German artist Erwin Bechtold since 1958 .
