Santa Mónica is a formerly independent town in Uruguay , which has belonged to the newly created city of Ciudad del Plata since October 25, 2006 , of which it is now the barrio .

geography

Santa Mónica is located in the territory of the Department of San José in its sector 6 . The town is northwest or west of Safici (Parque Postel) and Monte Grande and north of the Río de la Plata nearby Playa Pascual and Delta del Tigre y Villas . In the north, the Río Santa Lucía flows a few kilometers away .
