Santa Maria della Speranza a Val Melaina is a Roman Catholic parish and titular church in the Roman quarter on Piazza A. Fradeletto.

history

The parish was established in 1968 by a decree by Cardinal Vicar Angelo Dell'Acqua and entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco for pastoral care. Parish life took place before the church was built in the neighboring Pontifical University of the Salesians . In 1970 the parish was founded by Pope Paul VI. visited.

The foundation stone was laid in 1988 and the completion took place in 1995. The church was consecrated on December 10, 1995 by Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini . In 1997 there was a visit by Pope John Paul II .

On February 21, 2001, she was elevated to the title Church by Pope John Paul II.
