Santanadactylus ( "Santanafinger") was a flying dinosaur from South America. Fossils of this genus come from the 110 million year old sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Santana Formation in Brazil .

In 1980, PH de Buisonjé published the first scientific description of this pterosaur. Its systematic status has not yet been fully clarified, so Bennet classified it in 1989 as part of the Dsungaripteridae and also considered that the find was a mixture of bones of two species. Kellner & Campos included him in their 1992 work on the Tapejaridae . The genus is named after its place of discovery, the Santana formation and the long flying finger ("dactylus"). The art epithet honors Johann Baptist von Spix , one of the two first discoverers of the fossils in the Santana Formation.

In contrast to the other representatives of the genus S. brasiliensis , S. araripensis and S. pricei , the affiliation of S. spixi in the genus has not been fully clarified.
