history
In 2003, Santander Consumer Bank AG entered the market through the purchase of the Dutch financial services provider Abfin from Wassenaar . This is mainly active in the area of dealer financing. In 2008, as part of the takeover of the European consumer credit business of the Royal Bank of Scotland , the Houten- based RBS (RD) was also taken over by the Santander Consumer Finance group. Since 2009, both parts of the business from Wassenar and Houten have been merged at one location in Utrecht under the brand name Santander Consumer Finance Benelux BV.
