Santo Domingo Church
The Santo Domingo Church is located at 537 Quezon Avenue in Quezon City in the Philippines . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Manila of the Roman Catholic Church and is administered by the Dominican Order . The church houses the sanctuary of La Naval de Manila , the patron saint of the capital of the Philippines, Manila . On October 4, 2012, the Shrine of La Naval de Manila was declared a National Treasure of the Philippines by the National Museum of the Philippines .

After the destruction of the old Santo Domingo Church in Intramuros during the Second World War in 1942, a new home was sought for La Naval de Manila. It was decided to build a completely new building in Quezon City. Construction began in 1954 and was completed in 1964. The new church was built in a modern classicist style. On December 8, 1971, the church was awarded to the Dominican Order and on February 23, 1972, its own parish was established.
