Santos-Dumont is an impact crater on the front of the moon in the northern part of the Montes Apenninus . It is located south of the Fresnel Promontory and southeast of the large Autolycus crater . To the south of it is the Mons Hadley mountain range and to the southwest of it is the landing site of Apollo 15 .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 after the Brazilian air pioneer and inventor Alberto Santos Dumont .
