history

The Rotary Memorial

Settlements in the region have been documented since 1617, but the district's history officially began in August 1850. In this month Manuel Lynch bought land and rented it out to feed and vegetable producers whose products are destined for the nearby city of Buenos Aires were. Only two years later the battle of Caseros took place in parts of the area. In 1910, the Santos Lugaros Station railway stop was opened, it was opened on a plot of land made available by Paul Giorello.

The Rotary Club of San Martin plays an important role in the social life of the district, today a memorial commemorates it. It was founded in 1968. The club donated scholarships and gave support to hospitals and public schools. The largest contribution was grants for a training center for young people with disabilities.
