Sapozhok Iceland ( English , Russian Остров Сапожок Ostrow Saposchok , German , boots Island ' ) is up to 133 m high island before the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It belongs to the group of the Rauer Islands and is 1.25 km east-northeast of the eastern foothills of Ranvik Island .
Scientists from a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it and named it in 1956. It was named after the Russian geologist Ekaterina Shcherbinina of the Russian Academy of Sciences . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this designation into English.
