Sarāb (also Serab , Persian سراب) is a village with about 1600 inhabitants in the Iranian province of Ilam . It is located at an altitude of about 1,300 meters above sea level in the district of Eevan . Eevan is about ten kilometers to the north-west and the administrative seat of the province of Ilam is about 14 kilometers south-southeast . The Iranian- Iraqi border runs about 45 kilometers southwest of Sarāb.
