Sarah Beth Docter-Williams (born May 10, 1964 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is a former American speed skater .

Docter-Williams first appeared internationally at the all- around world championship in 1979 . There she took 12th place. A few weeks later, at the Junior World Championships , she was 8th. A year later, she reached 7th place at the All-Around World Championships , after finishing third over 3000 meters. The 1980 speed skating sprint world championship she finished in 11th place. She had finished the first run over 1000 meters in second.

Docter-Williams qualified for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . There she competed in four courses. She was 23rd over 500 meters, 14th over 1000 meters, and 13th over 1500 meters. Her best Olympic result was 10th over 3000 meters. In the subsequent Junior World Championship, Docter-Williams won the silver medal, as well as in the second run over 1000 meters. She finished the first run in third place. The following season she won bronze at the all- around world championship after she was also third in the 1000 meters and 3000 meters. At the Sprint World Championships she reached 16th place at the beginning of March 1981, Docter-Williams became Junior World Champion in the all-around competition, with victories in the 1000 meter, 1500 meter and 3000 meter sections, as well as third place over 500 meters. In her last active season, 1981/82, she took part again in the sprint and all-around world championships , where she finished 11th and 5th.

Docter-Williams was also active as a cyclist on the street and qualified for the UCI Road World Championships in Prague in 1981 , but refrained from starting to move forward to a speed skating training camp.

Docter-Williams' sister Mary was also active as a speed skater.
