Sarah Philipp
Sarah Philipp (born March 10, 1983 in Duisburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She has been an elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2012 .
biography
Sarah Philipp grew up in the south of Duisburg and graduated from the Steinbart-Gymnasium in 2002 . She then studied economic geography , political science and geography at RWTH Aachen University . In 2008 she completed her studies as a Magistra Artium in economic geography with a thesis on the consequences of economic structural change in the Ruhr area . Then she worked in town planning . Among other things, she was a project manager in an urban planning office in Dortmund from 2010 until she moved into the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
politics
In 1998 Philipp joined the SPD. Since 2010 she has been chairwoman of the SPD local association Duisburg-Buchholz. In 2011 she also became a member of the Duisburg SPD sub-district executive. She is also involved in the board of directors of the ASF in Duisburg and is an advisory member of the SPD parliamentary group in the Duisburg city council. Until 2009 she was also active at the Jusos Duisburg.
In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , she ran for the first time for the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In the Duisburg I state constituency , she won the direct mandate with 52.6 percent of the first votes . In the state parliament she is a full member of the committee for building, housing, urban development and transport as well as the legal committee. As a member of parliament, she advocates the rights of tenants, among other things. She also deals with district and neighborhood development. In March 2018, she was elected parliamentary director by her group .
Sarah Philipp is a member of the IG BCE , the AWO and the European Union as well as the German Renters' Association Rhine-Ruhr .
