The Saraktschāl also Sarakchal ( Persian سرکچال) is a peak in the central part of the Elburs Mountains .
It is located about 24 km north of Tehran. The weather in Saraktschāl is clear in summer, there are often thunderstorms in spring and there is an increased risk of avalanches in winter. The nearest larger town is the Shemschak winter sports resort in the north of Saraktschāl.
The Saraktschāl is considered the highest peak that can be climbed from Tehran without an overnight stay.
